I have always laughed at the term "TGIF" because for some reason I see it as reading something about tiggers or tigers? I dunno why, but I do. LOL Anyway, I am VERY thankful it is Friday today and looking forward to the long holiday weekend! Yeahh!
Today was a bust. LOL Did nothing... well, ran errands and got stuff done but really felt like I did nothing. All is well though. Just getting things geared up to go to the cabin this weekend. Have some SERIOUSLY serious housework to do tonight and tommorrow then we'll head out to Island Park. We will be WORKING this weekend for a change however! Blake and Lisa have a sort of deadline on finishing the remodel and have lots of little finishing touches to be done (paint trim, fixtures, clean up and stuff) so we were asked to come help, which is fine, because even work is fun up there! Of course we'll squeeze in some 4-wheelin' time too!! Wheee! We finally got a trailer and Liz bought a 2nd rig so we have 2 to take up, that will be a lot of fun.
When we get home from the cabin on Monday night I'll post some pix and stuff. Then next week will be a CRAZY mad dash to get things deep cleaned around here, including some much needed yardwork! I go in Friday for my surgery and Ed's folks will be here that weekend. I need to have everything organized and in order before that so I am sure next week will be insane. Thankfully I have tons of help for after the surgery and while I recover at home. So lucky.
I do have some new pix to share but I have not downloaded them off the camera card yet so maybe I'll have time tommorrow before we leave. I'll try, that's all I can promise.
OK off and running *again*.
Have a GREAT weekend!

Let's see....
Lots of little catching up to do here, but where to start? Well, I'll just go for it.
So, we went to Lagoon in Utah on Sunday, well, actually we left Sat night, stayed in a cute little hotel (not so clean though) and then headed out Sun morning to the park. The 2 younger kids and I spent the majority of the day at the water park, Lagoona Beach while Ed and the older kids did the big, wild, crazy rides. Later we met up at the water park and the older kids swam a bit too and after that we all went and did a big water ride Rattlesnake Rapids where we ALL proceeded to get soaked to the gills. Fun! But wet! That evening Ed took the big kids back to another wild ride and I took Micheal to ride some kiddie rides... oh the joys! All day he'd been fighting a cough/cold that was coming on and lil' Tiffany was complaining of a headache that had come on so it was definatly time to call it a day at about 8:30pm. We headed out and stopped to get some dinner at Wendy's when Tiff went full blown SICKIE on us... pounding headache, crying, nausea, the whole bit. Poor bug. We fed her and got her some meds and she was ok, slept the whole drive home. Meanwhile on the drive Micheal proceeded to get sicker, and upset. About an hour from home he started sobbing his eyes out and snuffing his little nose... we had to stop and buy some kids meds for him in Pocatello. Made it home finally about 1:00a.m and we were all sooooooooo tired. Monday was a long morning I will just tell ya. Ended up keeping Micheal home from school, he is ok now though. What an adventure.
Last night was the eclipse. I got up at 4:00 a.m. wide awake and went out in my pjs' in the drive to take pictures. It was SO pretty. Blood red, and bold and bright, just amazing. However, my lil' camera did not get the best photos and so I am afraid I won't have much to share. I'll have to see when my computer is back up and going.
Oh yea, my computer is still "ix-nay" aka: DEAD... so I am still 'borrowing' Ed's for now. Not too bad though, just missing some of my photos.
Trying to get things done around the house this week. Don't want to be in a hurried crazy rush next week before my surgery. Hope to get the yard all perked up too, hope. LOL Always something with the 4 kids, don't know if I'll make much headway but I can try at least! I am getting a little nervous about this all but I am sure things will be ok. We have tons of help promised and I think things will be well planned. Kids are excited to see Grandpa and Grama too. It will be nice to be able to visit with them and always a perk for us, even if the visit isn't under the best circumstances. Ed's folks are so good to our kids, well, to all of us, but they are sure awesome Grandparents!
Chris got his customized license plates for his car yesterday......oh what a HOOT! You saw in the previous post his car - red Firebird Formula - cool car for a 16 yr old boy, but how much cooler with personalized plates that say CMYBIRD !!!!!!!!
Yup, the DMV allowed the plates only because the car is a Firebird! LOLOL Love it! Now we'll see how much of a cop magnet this lil' red sportscar becomees? Hmmmm.
OK off and running. TONS to do today. Hope everyone is well.

Stay off the SIDEWALKS!
Hee hee! Yes, Chris is DRIVING! He got his permit to drive with Mom/Dad this spring and yesterday he went to the DMV and got his actual, real, license! He is now a free man! This photo is actually from about a yr ago, during Homecoming week for spirit days, "50's" day to be exact. This is him with his RED HOT FIREBIRD car... that IS now his to drive as he wants. OYE OYE OYE! Uncle Richie gave him this car a couple of summers ago, 1991 Firebird Formula, fire engine red, all the goods, including a big ol' revved up engine! Lord help me. So, he has already installed a new stereo/ cd player (with remote!) and put on new high performance tires (to the tune of over $600 bucks!) and he is ready to roll! Now to just put insurance on that baby....
Have a good one!

Down and out
Just a quick note to let you know I won't be posting as much for a bit. We had a power surge the other day and my computer got zapped! DH is working on it, trying to save the poor thing but not sure where to start. So, for now, he is playing "nice hubby" and sharing his pc with me... but that means much much less time online for me. (maybe a good thing?)
BIG NEWS for this week: our oldest DS, Chris, got his drivers license today! He is out on his first "official" DATE tonight with a girl... driving all by himself and everything! OYE!! Also, prayers please for my nephew Ted, he has gone off to college on a soccer scholarship at Kansas City and in a scrimage game this week he blew out his knee, not looking good at all. Poor kiddo! One last thing... this is the biggie! I am thinking about going back to school! WHAT?! Yea, I know, big thing, but a cool thing. More on that later though. (I'll keep you all in suspence)
OK make it a great weekend! We are planning on it! Sat is a busy day with lots of little stuff going on, then we are headed to Utah for a day of fun at Lagoon on Sunday. (Big amusement park) Hope you are all healthy , happy and safe! Luvs to ya!

Ch-ch-chhh changes...
Have a ton of these pix to share, before and afters of the cabin our bf's have been working on, but wanted to show these right now. Amazing how much of a change there is in such a short time. The new paint and deck on the cabin are so nice! The inside looks even better but I'll share that later. Darla
Back to School
Well, yesterday was the first day of school for our kids and they all had a great day. Can't believe they are ALL in school ALL day finally! Waited so long for an empty house and now here I am - babysitting a baby! Geeeeeeesh! LOL
OK Chris in red, a Jr in HS this year... Dani in red/black, an 8th grader at the JHS... Tiffany in pink, in the 5th grade this year and lil' Micheal (horrible photo) in his grey tee, he is in 1st grade finally! They were all so cute dressed up and headed off for the day!

Wow.......
And she'll have FUN FUN FUN till' her hubby takes the wheeler awwayyyyy hey.....
ONE word describes my day yesterday: FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my GOSH we had a fun day on Sunday! Went up to Island Park, took the new TOY (oh yea, the suprize?? We got a NEW four wheeler this weekend!) Isn't she pretty?!
OK so we took the new toy up there to the cabin to play. I did not have a CLUE what I was in for I tell ya, but DANG! it was fun!
First off, our oldest son, Chris, and our bf's Blake and Lisa had no idea we'd even bought it so when Ed and Micheal came rollin' up the road in it they were all totally shell shocked! SO COOL!
The kids of course took it for a few rides (with help) and then later in the day after they guys got a ton of work done on the cabin (CHECK OUT the new deck on the front of it!!!!) the adults went out for a ride. Blake and Lisa on their big 4 wheeler, Ed on our new one and I took Blake and Lisa's smaller one (similar to ours). I had NO NO NO idea what I was getting myself in to! EEEECK! We did mud puddles, mini hills, big hills, gravel, dirt, mud, rocks, we rode everywhere and I was totally amazed at how brave I was! We also gave one another some serious mud baths too, that was crazy fun! Splashing through huge mud puddles and splattering each other! We were all soaked and filthy! SO much fun! There were a couple of times I did stop and say "there's no way in H#LL I am going there" but they coaxed me through and I did ALL of it but one little tiny part! (OK a big part) LOL
We were headed back home and Blake decides to give me the "ULTIMATE TEST" and takes us up this totally steep rocky hill/mountain...wer'e talking UP UP UP and I was talkin' FREAK FREAK FREAK! I get 1/2 way up then there is a little plataue and then I look up and there is an even steeper part that is all BIG ROCKS and narrow and he'd told me you have to go fast so I just stood up, leaned forward and gunned it! Well, a small tree scraped the side and I was flipping out and then BAM! I was at the top!
So there the four of us are, on these 3 fourwheelers on the top of this hill with NO where to go....but back down! HE TOOK US UP THERE JUST SO WE HAD TO GO BACK DOWN??!! I tell ya, I literally was breathing hard, shaking, sick to my stomach! So at that point I did not even know how we would turn the stupid things around let alone get back down the hill so Lisa got on mine and I got on the back with Blake bc he was on the bigger one. Ed and Lisa proceed back down, slow and sure, then Blake takes the rocky part all slow and easy and we hit that plateau and what does he do?? Asks me if I am holding on, "yes, holding the bars back here" and he GUNS IT full speed down the bottom half!!!!!!!!! We are talking 60+ mph and I am screaming and hitting him on the back and flying off the dumb thing! OMGOSH it was SO FUN! Yes, I am nuts!
After that I just rode the rest of the way back with him and that was a total blast! We were flying down the paths, leaning into turns to keep from skidding off the road! It was totally fun, totally out of control! LOL
We went to this big sand pit where there are 2 hills, one is a steep on and the other more like a 'mound'. He asked my why I wasn't screaming, so he takes us UP and OVER this steep hill and yes, he got his scream! Then the smaller one you kind of go up the side and turn back down so your doing a semicircle! OH man, that was fun! By the time we got back to the cabin I was so out of breath and laughing! It was a blast! I have not had so much fun in I don't know how long!
So, I survived. I think I have a bruise on my left cheek (if ya know what I mean) and my arms and shoulders are SUPER sore, but I survived. Not only did I survive, I totally ROCKED! I was rather impressed with myself both in being able to physically do it and mentally push past. I am so not an adventurist so this was crazy for me. LOVED IT and can't wait to go again! Overall I did really well keeping up too... I had one point where I was sliding off this huge rock and had to have Blake come literally push the back as I went up and then the tree thing on the hill was the other one that freaked me. I figure for an off road mountain atv ride I did pretty dang well. I did let some serious language SLIP during the ride but hey, that is reasonable in my book! I'll stop babbling now, you get the idea, I had FUN, right??
OK so pictures for you!!
One is the NEW four wheeler....it IS even that pretty blue! Then there are a couple of 'after' photos showing you just how much fun we did have, the dirt and mud proves it!
There is a photo of the kids "working" outside the cabin (Dani being a show off in grey and Abbi in green) as they were moving the old boards from the deck Blake and Lisa pulled out with thier TRUCK this weekend! And then a photo of the three guys working on the NEW deck they built! (Ed in grey, Chris in green, Blake in white)
They got a lot done and the cabin is looking amazing. I'll show more of that later.
OK enough for one day! I still have back to school pix to share from this morning but I'll save them too!
Make it a good one!

circles
Running in circles. That is my theme this week. Getting up, running around all day, cleaning, doing laundry, talking endlessly on the phone, going to bed (too late I might add) and then getting up and doing it all again. OH, and it is ONLY Wednesday I hear? Whatever.
Seriously, just been a long week with very repetitive days for me. SO ready for school to start next week, new routine, new schedule, fresh new outlook. Have a lot going on and trying to get things in order and get worked into that new routine so things can run smoothly for a while.
Going to bed wayyyyy too late the past couple of weeks. Been slacking at the gym, only going like 3x a week rather than 5 like normal because I am too wiped out in the mornings. Ready to kick that in the butt big time!!!! My weight is up a few lbs and it is making me NUTS to the max! I totally have to be on top of this right now, as when I have that surgery in a couple weeks I am sure I'll see some problems on the scales for a while so I want to be in the best position I can before that happens. I want to be able to jump back into the workout routine as quickly as posible and not have to make up too much lost time. Wish me luck!! Yea, I know.
Kids are pretty much ready for school to start Monday. Chris and Dani are all registered and Tiff and Micheal get to go Fri to see where their classrooms are and stuff. Just need to grab school supplies this weekend and we are good to go. Ed and Chris are off tonight buying Chris a few clothes he needs and shoes.... wow, summer is gone, CrAzY!
Wayy cool photo of the sun breaking through the clouds on our way out of Teton Natl' Park near Jackson Hole, WY when we went a couple of weeks ago. So much awesome nature to see that trip.... I shocked myself with some coolio photos this time around!
So, things are in "order" for my surgery. Date is set for Fri Sept 7th, I will be in overnight, have tons of help coming so that is good. Ed's folks will be here that weekend. Liz is taking Sat off to help out. Ladies from Church bringing in food (coolness) and lots of other offers of help too. I feel so loved. hee hee. Just hoping that it goes smooth and I will recover quickly. I'll let you know how things go and I am sure Ed will post a note for me here or something too.
OK off to eat my spinach veggie salad and sun dried tomato and basil wheat things! Good stuff!

Oooops! I almost forgot!
Two new layouts to share!! These have been sitting on my desk for like 2 weeks waiting for finishing touches. They are finally done now... simple, bright, fun pages but 2 more DONE and FINISHED! Now on to more fun crazy stuff! Darla
Family Friends
Junkitz paper and lots of journaling about our bf's family.
Micheal's 6th Bday
Reminisce stickers and papers... just simple and fun.
Thanks for peeking!
Some more on Yellowstone last week.
OK I just did not do our quick day trip justice with my other posts and pictures (or lack there of) so I wanted to share a bit more. Yes, it did in fact rain MOST of the day but there was a time when we first got into the park when the weather was fair so we did the walk through Steamboat Geiser and it was nice. Then it rained. And it rained. And..... it rained. I almost called on Noah and asked him to call it off I tell ya! ROTF! So here is a photo review of our trip to Yellowstone, rain and all.
So, the photos are as follows: the blue/green pool of water is the Emerald Spring Hot Pool, beautiful! Then there are the kids standing by Fearless Geiser... not a great picture in general but shows we were there. LOL There is the little chipmunk who was right up close not 4 ft away until I went to take the picture and he ran down a good 10 feet from me! Grrr! This was all in the Steamboat Geiser walk.
Also the kids riding in the car..... Tiffany read a huge portion of her NEW Harry Potter book on this drive. Micheal entertained himself with HotWheels cars for hours too. OH and "The Rain". Yea, took pix in the car of the rain on the roads.... poor Chris drove in this dreary rain all day long. What a trooper! At 16 yrs old to drive his whole family in a nerdy minivan for over 10 hrs....wow! He is such a great kid! Finally, another beautiful shot of the sun out over the Grand Tetons. It was like a final farewell to us as we left the Natl' parks that day. What a gorgeous sight it was! We will totally be going through the Teton area a lot more in the future. Even in the rain and clouds it was beautiful!
OK over and out for today!

Catching up is hard to do....
Here I went and promised more updates and more photos and then I slacked off all week! So sorry! But now I am here to play 'catch up' again! LOL
A few pictures of our trip to Yellowstone last Sunday. Chris drove the WHOLE drive, all day long, we are talking like 10 hours! It rained and poured and rained and poured.... then it thundered and lightening... yea, but it was STILL beautiful! At teh end of the day as we were driving out through Grand Teton Natl' Park we caught the sun rays bursting out of the clouds onto the magestic mountains... AMAZING site! I know my picture does not capture the utter amazing beauty but you get the idea!!
Also a pic of my lil' guy I babysit. He keeps me going to say the least! LOL
More catch up later.

Rushed
That is how this week is going. Very very rushed. But that is ok because we are on the COUNTDOWN to school and I am SO ready for the kids to go back! Anyway, have tons to share, new pix and more but as usual, no time right now. I PROMISE I'll get on here tonight and update things. For now, life is good. Things are running smoothly and that is nice for a change. My surgery date is FOR SURE set now for Sept 7th unless the insurance company does something stupid! HA like that would ever happen? LOLOLOL
OK more later.

OK finally, some updates for you!
Wow! Life has been a little hectic and I am sorry I have not been keeping up here very well. I will try to be better. So much to tell you, where to start?! Well, first off, the photo is my little "pumpkin pie" I babysit during the week, isn't he SOOOOO CUTE!?! I watch him from like 5:00 am till' 6:00 pm Mon-Thurs and then some Fridays' for a few hours. His Mom works with my hubby. She is a doll! Love having him here!
OK family stuff. Ed is still recovering from his motorcycle accident back in June. He saw the Dr this week and his wrist is healing SLOWLY but it is healing. He did in fact get a new bike, some of you didn't know that I guess. No, I didn't "allow" him to, he just got it! LOL Like I could stop him? Seriously, I had no qualms at all with it, I know the accident was in no way shape or form his fault. New bike is awesome, he is even happier with it than the old one. ummmmmmm... what else? OK kids are all good. Schools starts mid-Aug and they are all pumped. Chris is going to be a Jr in HS, Dani in the 8th at the JHS, Tiff a 5th grader and Micheal in the 1st this year. NO KIDS ALL DAY! Well, go back and read paragraph one again, nope, I will never be all alone! hee hee!
My Mom is getting along. She did stay in the hospital a few days after her episodes. She is very weak and they did send her home on a combo of home health and hospice. The Dr is certain she will have more cardiac episodes and it is just a matter of time. She is very frail but she is strong willed. I just hope she does not suffer.
Lemme see, what else to share?
Ummmm my girlfriend that had the surgery is healing up well. We even went out the other night with her and her hubby. TOTALLY had a great time! We went out to dinner at our normal "hang out" Garcias for Mexican food...then we ventured to the Comedy Club and saw 2 really good comedians. Absolutly a blast! After the stand up show they had music and dancing, now, if you know Ed and I you probably know that we are not really the type to be gettin' our groooove on out on the dancefloor but by-golly WE DID! We danced and grooved and had a great time! I was so impressed with both the other couple we were with AND mostly with myself for not being too self conscious to get out there and shake it! A year ago, NO WAY on God's green earth would I have been out there on the dancefloor..... this time, I was partyin' it up!!! Also, I have to add, I was feeling really good about myself too, I was sportin' a new hairdo that looked pretty dang good if I don't say so myself (the other photo!) and wearing one of my new tops I got from my Monkey board buddies and some cute jeans... I kept looking at myself in the full length mirror at the club and seemed to suprized to actually LIKE what I saw for a change! Big stuff. Afterwords we went to Denny's for a snack where I proceeded to spill water and strawberry milkshake all over myself! ROTFLMBO! It was a blast! We didn't get home till' 1:00 a.m. and I felt so pumped up! I feel like I am 18 again.... crazy!
The really cool part about all this? I just FEEL SO GOOD! I have cut my workouts back to about 3-4 x a week rather than 5 but I still am doing well and feel so good. I am a bit anxious that my surgery might slow me down but I keep thinking it will give me some drive to work harder after I recover. Well, even to work harder to get recovered! LOL I just feel awesome, it is great. I wish I could help some of my friends more with thier weight challenges..... if only they could feel like this too!
OK so then Friday morning I had a Dr appt with the ENT again. Well, actually, I went in for some labs to be drawn and for whatever reason he came in to talk to me... ended up talking for like a 1/2 hr and got a lot of answers to a lot of questions. Still planning on the surgery, sort of looking at Sept 7th for it but not 100% sure yet. Ed really wants to talk to the Dr and we are going to see about getting another opinion as well. I am confident in the ENT Dr but it is smart to get another view too. Right now my R side of my thyroid is really enlarged and pushing on both my vocal chords and my esophagus. The thought is that it will just get bigger and be harder to remove later on. Actually, both sides are enlarged but the R side is the major problem. Having a partial removal is an option but he said then I run the risk of having to have another surgery later on and partials bleed more and since the connecting part of the thyroid is enlarged too....well, it is just smarted to do the whole thing. So, for now we are set for that date but it may change. I'll keep ya posted. OH and I never did get my labs done, the nurse tried 2x and couldn't get in... left me a lovely bruise on the inside of my wrist though. :O) Geesh!
Tommorrow we are headed to Yellowstone for the day. Just a quick day drive, going to pick up Chris in Island Park at the cabin (he is working with Blake this w/end) and head up. Weather has been super nice so it should be a great trip! I am sure I'll have photos to share!
Today we hit the yard sale jackpot! LOL yes, we are addicted to Sat morning yard sales. We went to one at a house of an old friend/neighbor/church member that we have known for a few years. They are moving so they had some great deals. Amongst other things I picked up a few shirts for the girls for school, like new and great name brand labels! Well, we went back later to pick up a couple of armoires we bought and they were loading up stuff to go to the thrift store.... she told me to go through and take whatever I wanted for the girls FREE!!! I ended up getting a HUGE stack of stuff for the girls..... we are talking TONS of clothes! So going to help out with back to school! Loved it! Oh... and I got myself the coolio-est new purse! It is PURPLE of course and I love it!

So much to tell
BUT no time to tell it all in! Super busy this a.m. so I will skip the stories and just share a few pictures!
Ed's NEW(er) bike... the one that replaced the long loved wrecked one... yes, I am nuts!
A photo of our poochie pup Hershey.... Micheal took this photo ALL by himself just yesterday!

Micheal with his first lost tooth! Got loose, fell out all in one day, then he lost the other bottom middle one just one week later! Same week Tiff lost a tooth as well, let's just say the tooth fairy has been a busy girl!!!

Whoaaa
Well, things have slowed down a bit in "life" , thank goodness. This week has been pretty un-eventful, thank goodness. I think that last week was a bit more than I was ready to handle. Thanks to all my family and good friends who stood by me. Somehow I think there is more rocky roads to come, but for now, I am breathing at least! LOL!
So, my friend is still recovering from her surgery, feeling much better. I went with her for a bit yesterday, very relieved to see her out and about. Wanted to hug her tight but afraid of squishing her owies! Silly me!
Mom went home on Hospice as planned. The Dr seems certain that this was just the beginning of several episodes but her poor little old body can't take too much more. I just hope whatever happens she does not suffer more. I will keep you posted as I hear more myself. I hope to get to visit again later this week. (photo is of my sis and I with Mom just last month - excuse my fat b*tt in there!)
I have a Dr appt on Friday to get some more bloodwork done. Yippee. I think they like to drain you of all your bodily fluids and then sit back and laugh... seriously. Anyway, then I will get an appt to consult with the Dr, pick a date and all that fun stuff. For now, I am still jittery, nervous and all that, but I am sure I'll be fine.
Looks to be a fun weekend. Talk about NEEDING that one! Thurs we'll be going to a comedy night with our friends Blake and Lisa, then Fri is Ed's day off, so hopefully things will stay calm. Sat we have some friends of Ed's coming from Boise and we'll meet up at some point and then Sun we are planning a day trip up to Yellowstone! I am sure we'll peep in at Island Park and say "HI" to those at the cabin too. I tell ya, I just hope all the next few days go on without a nich... say a little prayer, OK?
HUGS!! as always!
