another week half gone





13 miles is a long way
i have done 7 several times
i have done 9 once
and when i was a kid we did 20 once a year for the WalkAThon
for several years
right now i am working on 4-5 miles and working up weekly but
it is a struggle


don't know what is going on with me, not pushing for my workouts as hard as i should be and not pushing myself but for a few times a week
i am getting down to the wire on my half marathon training and it is freaking me out... I "officially" start my 12 week 3 month training program this coming Sat and I am worried I am not going to push hard enough to be successfull
need to find that "DRIVE" I know I have in my heart and soul... need to find a routine that works for me to train ... need a lot of stuff but mostly need to get off my butt and move! ugh!

another sucessful moment at the gym this a.m.

did a 4.0 run this morning, albiet short, it was good

went bright n early at 5:45 a.m. - did mostly incline
work cuz' my tummy was rebelling from the nasty greasy
pizza we ate last night - grumble and moan

feeling good about going though, even just a short workout
on an early morn is progress - right?



also wanted to share this cute photo of Dani and her bf
Den on Superbowl Sunday - he came for dinner, snacks and
the game - he is such a good kid, we really enjoy him
at our house... they are so cute together!

Midnight Workout!




I had the most killer workout last night.
I put it off and put it off (partly due to 'real' time issues and partly due to me being lazy and putting it off) and finally got up and went to the gym at midnight last night! It was pretty awesome.
1- there were only 2 people there
2- i was pumped up to achieve my goal
3- i was WIDE awake rather than 1/2 asleep in the early morning
4- i got to take a hot shower before falling into bed

I usually prefer early a.m. workouts - but - this was kind of fun.
One big issue is once I have food in my stomach workouts are not
um, let's say "Friendly" to my body so I like early a.m. workouts
cuz' I can go on an empty stomach. Last night by the time I went my
food had plenty of time to settle so I did ok. I ended up with a wee
bit of heartburn but that I can live with.









I did my 2 miles as planned, ran intervals and did my 1/2 mile push
and felt pretty good about it. This weekend I bump up to 4 miles so
I need to work harder!!! I also did some weights, focussing mostly
on leg press machine with several variations that is supposed to be
great for the legs, ankles and I have even heard rumors of the good
benifits to the tooshie! Woot! I'll take that!

LONG Monday

*EDITED* Did NOT make it to the gym this morning (Tues) but slept like a bump on a log and man was it GREAT! Going to have to go for a late night gym rat trip tonight instead!!!




No, that is not me running today. Not on Monday. (It was last fall, in the cold and wind and snow and my frosty hair was frozen with sweat! LOL)

it's jus that , well, i just don't usually look forward to mondays

that said
today sorta sucked
lots o little stuff that just put the whole day intoa funk


but tody is almost over - whewww and i could use sme great sleep

i am going to work
coming home
eating dinner
going to a young womens activity with Tiffany
and then coming home to veg in front my fave tv show

wow, big day? LOL But better than Monday. I hope.

Getting ready to head to the gym for a date with

THE TREADMILL!

I have a three mile goal today. Hope to be able to do
1/4 mile walk and jog intervals or better. Woot! I need
to do at least three miles today. MINIMUM!

Still feeling the weight workout from *last* week!? What the
heck? Anyway, I am headin' out to do this. I have laundry
monsters to slay today as well so we'll see if I get it all
done!?

**DONE!**
I did my three miles and a wee bit more. I ran intervals of 1/4 mile walk/jog and then even did a 1/2 mile in the middle too! Did the full three miles in 54 minutes, so averaged a whopping 18 min mile (not thrilled with that but it's ok). Also did a super push on the leg press machine too - word has it that the leg press is a love machine for chubby rears so I'll try it! LOL
Feel good about my 3 miles, going to work hard this week so that I can get to a mile straight AND start pushing for 4 miles next weekend!

A year ago today

I was reviewing where I was a year ago today.
I was posting about going to a BODY BLAST class
at the Church - never went. I remember being terrified
to go bc I had heard that the instructor had made people
LITERALLY barf while working out (our own Jillian?) so
I really was scared but willing to try. Hmm, why??
Well, turned out she was sick herself and we xl'd the class.
Wish I'd tried it another time but I never did.
Now she is teaching Zumba dance classes at the elementary
school on Wed nights - my daughters want to go BAD but it
scares me. Worse than barfing? Maybe the idea of shaking my
boote' in any sort of dancing motion in front of 100 ladies
who are all much thinner than me scares me to death?



I dont' know?
We'll see.
I might still go sometime.
Dani made me do a couple of short YouTube versions of
the Zumba dancing in our livingroom - KILLED my knees
and my thighs WERE burning so that might say something??




In the meantime...I will stay more in my "comfort zone" here...



I am working on my run times at the gym. Started out yesterday
on 2 min walk/run intervals - slow and steady. My fastest mile with
that was 18 and half minutes. This morning I upped myself to 2 min
walk/ 3 min run intervals... got that mile down to 17 min and 15 seconds!~
Small progress! LOL Also working on some strength training too and my
friend Kathi SWORE to me that if I work on the leg press machine every day
that my flubber boote' will slim down. I am tkaing her word for it! She has
lost 85 lbs!!!!! I focus more on my belly but anything off the hiney is not
bad either! RIGHT?? No more men dedicating "I like big butts" to Darla again! LOL
(Not that it has ever happened but ya, one of those crazy internal fears I guess?)

So, I hope to get my early morning routine back in order for workouts. I hope to
be up to a full mile on the treadmill by this weekend. I hope that I can get back
down to a reasonable weight soon. I hope I hope I hope. I will do it. I will.

Today I take a step forward for myself!



TODAY I revamped a gym membership, I needed it. I am so tired of trying to come up with workouts that don't workout. I am tired of relying on others to motivate me and give me a workout and mostly....







because I don't want to look or feel like THIS anymore....



THAT is not a happy me. I know I can look and feel better. So, I will share with you again in one more month. Let's see how far I can go in one month shall we??
